Beatrice Gallegos Salazar 106, A lifelong resident of Youngsville, went to be with our Lord on Monday March 1, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband Liberato Salazar, Sons; Eddie Salazar Sr. and Ricardo Salazar, parents, Julio and Magdalena Gallegos, brothers; Frank, Ned, and Jose R. Gallegos, Sisters; Anna M. Coca, Leonela Kuhn, Della E. Arellano and Juanita Patton, grandchildren; Bobby Salazar, Dianna Salazar and John Salazar, great grandchildren; Tricia Thompson and Dylan Salazar. Beatrice was born in El Vado, New Mexico to Julio and Magdalena Gallegos, she attended school in the Cañon de Chama school house. She was proud to be an 8th grade graduate. Beatrice worked as a postmaster for 30 years in Youngsville where she lived. During this time she assisted the community as a midwife and sold Avon, for many years. She enjoyed gardening and harvesting produce from her garden and orchard, then canning and packing. Beatrice spent her time quilting, knitting and crocheting many projects for her family and friends. Beatrice lived her life with an immense faith and inspired others by her devotion to her Catholic faith. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Beatrice is survived by her daughter; Julia Morfin and Cleo Jacquez, whom she raised as a daughter. Grandsons; Edward Salazar (Grace), Randy Morfin (Isabel), Gary Morfin (Collette), Ray Jacquez (Martha), Granddaughters; Loretta Morfin (Sammy), Sandra Morfin, Karen Morfin, Darlene Maestas (Andrew), Lenore Salazar, Denise Alexander (Ruben), Amy Jacquez. 35 great-grandchildren, 58 great-great grandchildren and 3 great-great-great grandchild. Special thanks to Del Corazon Hospice, Casa Rael and all her Caregivers throughout the years. A Rosary was held on March 5, 2021 at 12:00 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00p.m. Burial took place immediately following mass at the Youngsville cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers were Patrick Chavez, Gary Morfin Jr, Andrew Maestas Jr, Chris Maes, Michael Salazar, Krystal Baldonado, Devyn Alexander and Daniella Jacquez.
