Charlotte L. Roybal, 102, Chamisal, died Sunday Aug. 29, 2021.

    She was born May 18, 1919 to Jose and Beatrice Lopez, in Chamisal. She attended missionary school in Dixon and worked at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque until she retired in 1984.

    Mrs. Roybal was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and listening and dancing to New Mexican music.

    She and Felipe Roybal were married 25 years.

    Mrs. Robyal was preceded in death by her spouse and children Mabel Valdez, Hazel Martinez, Dorothy Martinez and Martha Lujan.

    She is survived by her children Ernesto Roybal, Cindy Roybal, Phillip Roybal, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and family and friends.

    Public visitation and a memorial service was held Sept. 2 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A funeral service was held Sept. 3 at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Peñasco with Pastor Daniel Castillo to officiate the service. Burial followed at the Chamisal Cemetery.
