Edward Steve Montaño

Edward Steve Montaño, Age 65 On November 23, 2020, our dear Edward Steve Montaño left this earth to be with our Lord in Heaven. He was born and raised in Las Vegas, NMto Ermelindo and Felepita Montaño.

Edward was proceeded in death by his parents, Ermelindo and Felepita Montaño, Father-in-Law Leocario “Leo” Archuleta, brothers Robert Montaño and Ramon Montaño, brother-in-law Johnny “Coonie” Padilla, and sisters Ramona (Polly) Montaño and Antonia Montaño, sister-in-law Yvonne Montaño.

He is survived by his wife Patsy Archuleta-Montaño, daughter Melissa Montaño (Zacharias Trujillo), sisters Judy “Sister Love” Padilla and Flora Montaño, brothers Teo (Mary) Montaño and Ned (Isabel) Montaño, brothers-in-law Leo (Loretta) Archuleta and Luis Archuleta, sister-in-law Annette Espinosa and close family-friends, Alfred and Barbara Trujillo, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

After moving to Española, NM, he met his wife Patsy Archuleta-Montaño and later had a beautiful baby girl, Melissa Montaño. He always said Melissa was his pride and joy, the apple of his eye, and Patsy was his lottery. Edward then achieved his dream of becoming a Substance Abuse (LADAC) Counselor by earning his Associates Degree from Northern New Mexico College. He left a positive impact in the Valley by those he helped; he had a heart of gold. He was humble and compassionate to all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

There was never a dull moment with Edward. Through the good times and bad, he always had a smile on his face. He never let anything dull his joy. He would always find the positive in things by saying, “Laughter is the best medicine.” In his free time, he loved being with his family, tending to his animals, working outdoors, going fishing and watching his Dallas Cowboys play. Every Christmas Eve, Edward & Patsy looked forward to portraying

Mr. & Mrs. Claus, while his daughter drove them around town, spreading joy and love to both kids and adults. Edward was a faithful servant to God; he lived by faith and loved God with all his heart. He will be greatly missed.
