Gilbert Joseph Herrera

Gilbert Joseph Herrera, 81, long time resident of Dixon and recently of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on Sept. 21,2020. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dear friend to many, he will be missed. A faithful servant of our heavenly father Jehovah, he sleeps in peace awaiting the fulfillment of God’s promises at John 5:28,29; Rev. 21:3,4; 1 Cor. 15:26. Gilbert was born in Dixon, NM on May 22, 1939 to Joe Gilbert and Maria Inez Herrera (both predeceased). He was an avid fisherman and farmer. Gilbert worked for the State of NM and City of Santa Fe. He completed his professional career as a respected Counselor, helping many to overcome personal issues. He is survived by his loving children: Elizabeth Trujillo (Richard), Alex (Deborah), Paul (Leslie), Vincent (Dina), Victoria Herrera (Arnold), Ramona Herrera-Reeves, Joel (Mandy), Felicia Lucero (Fermin); and their mother Gail Herrera. His cousin, who was more a brother, Roberto Jimenez (Nancy). Grandchildren: Adam, Danielle, Ashley, Andrew, Joseph, Erika, Kevin, Ryan, Aria, Vaughn, Alec, Nicole, Frankie, Jazzmine, Jordan, Lucas, Jerod, Riley, Jack, Abby, Paige, Brooke, Fermin Jr., Andres, and Elena. Great-Grandchildren: Daniel, Dominic, Amor, Jaxon, Micaela, Jeremiah, Arianna, Leia, Dominic, Brayden, Aubrey, Jacob, Derrick, Otto, Leo, Ezmia. Predeceased by Rebecca and Brandon. The family wishes to express their utmost gratitude and appreciation to BreAnne McCord and Becky DuBois, of Kindred Hospice, for their exceptional loving care and support.
