Glen Darrio Sandoval “Glen S” left this earth on September 5th, 2020, at age 50. A resident from Tampa Bay, Florida. Glen was a vivacious, charismatic, free spirit, captivating, hardworking, dedicated, and loving soul. Originally from Truchas, NM, he decided to venture to Tampa Bay, Florida in 1992. He was a successful Engineer Designer for Hamilton Engineering & Surveying, Inc., a Resident DJ in the Tampa Bay Area for Serious Soul under the name “Glen S”, and part-owner of the Rise & Shine Cleaning Company. Glen loved his family dearly and is survived by numerous relatives and friends. He adored his daughter Alexandra Sandoval, and son Brandon Sandoval of Tampa Bay, Florida. A loving son to Linda and Leo Sandoval of Truchas, NM. A brother to Chris Sandoval (Melody) of Santa Fe, NM, and Joseph Videlio Sandoval (Dana) of La Puebla, NM. An uncle to Aaliyah, Kristiana, and Keyera Sandoval. Grandson to Nelson Martinez of Truchas, NM. A loving fiancé to Denise Wharran and loved her daughter Zakara of Tampa Bay, Florida. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Adelita & Flavio Sandoval and Cora Martinez of Truchas, NM and numerous relatives. Glen enjoyed visiting New Mexico and appreciated the cultural richness his hometown of Truchas provided. Enjoying his mother’s home-cooked meals, spending time with his parents, visiting family and friends, or hanging out with his brothers Videlio and Chris, he always had a smile on his face as he took countless photos. We will always remember his carefree nature, fun and outgoing personality, his entertaining T-shirts, his flip flops, and everywhere he went he was always dancing (music or no music). We will remember his many stories especially when he stayed in his house during a hurricane, teaching us about silent discos, his inquisitive mindset, his photographic memory, his love for the ocean, riding the craziest rollercoasters at Bush Gardens, attending the Tampa Bay Buccaneer games with Videlio and Dana, and his love for sports (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lightning, and Rays). Glen was a bright light that captivated a crowd with his positive vibes, infectious smile, compassion for others, his dancing skills “Happy Feet”, and larger than life personality. He always gravitated towards positivity, was the life of the party, and his willingness to help others. Glen was extremely passionate about his craft as a DJ. He loved music and enjoyed the DJ scene. He truly treasured his countless friends in Florida and considered them all “his family”. Thank you for being his support and family when his New Mexico family could not be by his side. Life is too short, and Glen truly lived his life to the fullest. When he took his final breath we take comfort knowing that he epically left this earth doing what he loved, seeing the crowd enjoying his craft, and vibing to the beat. A Facebook page has been created to honor Glen. A celebration of his life is being planned in Tampa Bay, Florida at a later date. A celebration of life for the immediate family will be held in Truchas, NM. The family would like to thank everyone from New Mexico to Florida for their amazing stories, photos, and words of encouragement. Continue sending them, it brings joy and comfort to us all.
