James Perry Quintana, age 34, a resident of Española formerly of Las Vegas, N.M. gained his wings on June 30, 2020. James was born on September 22, 1985 to Caroline Jaramillo and James H. Quintana. James was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jose Quintana and Margaret L’Esperance Quintana; maternal grate grandparents Pedrito Jaramillo and Margarita Jaramillo and Domingo and Lillian Vigil. Paternal aunt who he loved very much Marcella Garcia; brother Damien Pacheco, a close friend whom was like a brother Jeremy Garcia. James was a caring and loving person he would give the shirt off his back to whoever needed it. James was witty and funny always making everyone laugh. He had a lot of love for his nephews Martin, Kenny and Ezekiel and his fur baby Lacie. James had two beautiful daughters who he loved with all of his heart, Aliyah Monique Chavez and Evelyn Maestas and special uncle Victor who was like his father. James was a talented artist and tattoo artist. He loved music, hanging out with his family and friends and helping those in need. James had a heart of gold. James is survived by his mother Caroline (Leroy Salazar); sister Heather Martinez and companion, Kenneth Vaughn; nephews Martin Martinez, Kenneth Vaughn, Ezekiel Vaughn; father James H. Quintana (Amy); sisters Vanessa Quintana (David); niece Anesssa Quintana, Shayla Quintana, Angel Quintana; brother Henry Lucero; maternal grandparents Mike Jaramillo (Brenda) aunt Alexandra Jaramillo, Veronica Jaramillo (Robert Baca); uncle Victor Jaramillo (Brenda); cousins Josiah Jaramillo and Jazmine Aldaz; paternal siblings; aunts Mary Rowledge (Arthur), Mela Chavez (Mel), Lucille Quintana, Helen Quintana, Sandra Pacheco, Della Lopez, Clorinda Quintana, Ramona Lucero (Steve), Jean Sandoval, Terry CdeBaca, and uncle Joe Quintana. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks are mandatory and a limit of 75 people are permitted inside the building. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Victory Faith Church. Burial will be held at a later date. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Leroy Salazar, Victor Jaramillo, Martin Martinez, Josiah Jaramillo Kenneth Jaramillo, Kraig Jaramillo, Bill Ray Garcia, Donny DeAguero and Gerald Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Vaughn, Ezekiel Vaughn, Aliyah M. Chavez, Evelyn Maestas and all and any friends he had near or far. The family of James Perry Quintana has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
