Juanita Lujan, 87, Colorado Springs, Colo., died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019.

    Mrs. Lujan was born Dec. 16, 1931 to Juan and Eloisa Gallegos in Las Comanche’s Ranch, near Ojo Calente. She lived most of her life in the Española Valley. She graduated from McCurdy High School and took courses at Adam State College in Alamosa, Colo.

    She moved away and spent the last 14 years of her life in Colorado Springs to live near her two daughters Antonetta Gianino and Paula Martinez.

    Mrs. Lujan was a member of Victory Faith Church in Española. She enjoyed music and playing the piano

    She was preceded in death by her daughter Glenda Lujan, son Leon Lujan and a granddaughter.

    Mrs. Lujan is survived by her daughters Paula Martinez, Antonetta Gianino, Eloise Estrada and Amanda Lujan; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Sept. 7 at the DeVargas Funeral Home in Española.
