William (Bill) A. Voight 83, a life-long resident of El Llano passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Rio Rancho, with family at his side, on October 26, 2021. He was born on April 26, 1938 in Embudo, NM. Bill is preceded in death by his parents William A. and Teresina Voight; first wife and mother of his children, Nora T. Voight (widowed); his second wife Pamela Hardsock-Voight; sisters Clara and Dorothy; grandson Juan Ian Martinez and numerous relatives.
Bill was a successful construction and rental business owner in Santa Fe, Espanola and Taos. He enjoyed meeting and interacting with all his customers. Bill enjoyed working with his hands. He was a great wood carver and artist. Being outdoors was one of Bill’s many passions. He loved to fish, hunt and go camping, especially in the Chama area. He also enjoyed taking long bike rides on his Harley-Davidson with family and friends. He belonged to the Christian Motorcycle Group. If there was a car show, he would be there in his 1930 Ford Roadster with a smile. Bill also gave back to his community by sponsoring local little league and softball teams, and mud bogging events.
Bill is survived by his five children, Doreen (Ken), Tonia, Derrick (Angela), Odette (Mark) and Valerie; 19 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson, and two sisters Lea Hennenhoefer, CA and Ninnie (Richard) Quintana.
