The executive committee of the La Tierra Montessori School of the Arts Parent Teacher Association would like to express our continued strong support for our school. We feel that the challenges we have faced as a community are such that will bring the needed change. We honor the work of the former leadership on the governance board, at the same time, we are hopeful that the new leadership and administration will bring the dynamic change that we feel is needed.

    • The new Governing Council is fully engaged and committed to building on lessons learned.

    • The new head learner, Ms. Feathers, is intent on bringing the Montessori method to this community school as was originally intended. Many materials and works are already available.

    • The current administrator is on board to make sure the school is in compliance with state regulators.

    • There are several wonderful opportunities to partner with existing entities to support the school in accomplishing its goals of being a wonderful learning environment for our children.

The school is vital to our community and needs to grow to meet the diverse needs of the valley. The La Tierra executive committee is dedicated to continue working to help make the school the vibrant community based school that the founders envisioned.

Please plan to attend the next La Tierra Parent Teacher Association meeting at 5:30 p.m., Dec.  11.
