The Española Public Library will offer a “Chess 101” class for beginners of all ages from 11 a.m. to noon and 4-5 p.m. Feb. 20. Participants learn how the chess board is set up, how each piece moves, basic rules and simple strategies to get started. No prior experience required. Get creative with bright, bold colors at Neon Coloring Day on Feb. 24. All ages welcome, supplies provided. “Kung Fu Panda 4” is the afternoon movie at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 26.

The Bond House Museum is showcasing the Northern New Mexico Artist Invitational Exhibit featuring artists Roger Montoya, Steve Chavez, Michelle Ferran, Nicholas Herrera and James Espinoza. The exhibit is on display through May 31. Admission is free. The Bond House is located at 706 Bond St. Exhibit hours are noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Seniors can get help in applying for SNAP, Medicare, Medicare Part D, LIHEAP, the Medicare Savings Program and Medicaid by contacting Mariah Sandoval with the Rio Arriba County Health and Human Services Department at 505-753-2143, ext. 5109. She can check eligibility and help seniors apply for the programs.
