Friday Night Live! An Improv Comedy Showcase

From a Press Release

Friday Night Live! brings together rising student performers and seasoned improvisers for a one-night-only showcase of live comedy. Featuring the UB EspaƱola Improv Troupe, Cup of Noodles, alongside performers from Santa Fe Improv, this free event spotlights homegrown talent from the EspaƱola Valley and beyond.

This showcase marks the culmination of a unique and growing partnership between UB EspaƱola — a college access program based at Northern New Mexico College serving first-generation college-bound students at EspaƱola Valley High School — and Santa Fe Improv, a leading regional performing arts organization. Since last summer, Santa Fe Improv has worked with UB students through classes and mentorship, helping them develop skills in improvisation, collaboration and performance.

What started as a workshop quickly became something bigger. By December, students had formed their own troupe, Cup of Noodles, and taken the stage alongside adult performers. This spring, through the Future Focused Education X3 Internship Program, these students have taken their training even further — gaining hands-on experience in ensemble work, creative risk-taking and live performance.

Now, they’re ready to bring it all to the stage in EspaƱola.

Expect a high-energy mix of games, scenes and spontaneous storytelling as student and adult performers join forces for a night of comedy, creativity, and connection.

The event will be at 7 p.m. April 10 at the Nick Salazar Center for the Arts, Northern New Mexico College

921 Paseo de OƱate. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
