Also known as Ben or Benzo, was a lifelong resident of Northern, NM, unexpectedly passed away at 34 yrs old, on January 22nd, 2026 due to hypothermia related complications. He was born to Renee Clark & (late) John Lopez on July 21st, 1991 in Albuquerque. He grew up in both Espanola and Las Vegas where he attended middle/high school, and played football at Espanola Valley High.

Ben was a man of many trades which included many forms of art, carpentry, and mechanics. He was compassionate, loved music, concerts, skateboarding, snowboarding, and had a heart of gold. His greatest passion was helping others. Ben is survived by his children: JohnPaul Jr. (JJ) & Preciosa. His mother: Renee Clark (John Clark III). His siblings: Brianna Vigil, Brooke Lopez, Logan Handley, Mandi Lopez, Adrianne Lopez and Steven Dahl. His nieces/nephews: Peyton, Alexis, Brielle, Amethyst, Mailee, Aiden, Mila, Ariella, Greyson, Joseph & Avery. His grandmother: Tillie Pizzuti. His aunts/uncle: Rita Baca, Debbie Lopez & Dean Lopez (Mary Lopez) and many other cousins and relatives. Ben is preceded in death by: John Paul Lopez (father), Kenneth Lopez (uncle), William Dybdahl (uncle), Jeffrey Mello (brother), and grandparents.

His services will be at the Queen of Heaven Church in Albuquerque, NM on February 19th. Rosary starting at 9:30 a.m., Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., and reception to follow after the services.
