Meanwhile, former Rio Arriba County Commissioner Barney Trujillo, of Chimayó, is seeking election to the District 1 seat once more, but will face two opponents: former Rio Arriba County commission James J. All are democrats except for Vigil, who is a republican.
Current County Assessor Joaquin Valdez will run to retain his seat but faces former chief deputy assessor Josie Valdez, of Española; and former county assessor Levi Valdez, Jr., of Velarde. All candidates are democrats.
Three are vying for probate judge: Elias Coriz, who currently holds the seat; David S. Chavez and Darlene Armijo. Coriz and Chavez are democrats, while Armijo is a republican.
