Shots Fired

March 12

12:21 a.m. A deputy made a traffic stop near the EspaƱola Airport and found a sawed-off shotgun.

7:43 a.m. An El Guique caller heard shots fired last night and woke up to find bullet holes in their windows and damage in the bathroom.

11:17 a.m. A man at the Ohkay Casino was harassing someone in Human Resources and claiming to be a boss. He then got physically aggressive with security.

1:12 p.m. A Sunset Drive caller reported someone broke into his garage.

1:44 p.m. A State Road 369 caller said his wife has dementia and there was an altercation over cat food this morning and she hit him.

2:20 p.m. A Pizza Emergency caller reported his banners were stolen.

2:37 p.m. A search warrant was executed at Century Bank.

4:07 p.m. A Pet Sense caller requested help because a dog got her jaw stuck in a grate.

5:44 p.m. A pickup truck crashed into a tree near the Ohkay Express Mart and hit a power line.

8:40 p.m. A Corlett Road caller said someone across the street is shooting.

Bag Full of Crosses

March 13

8:41 a.m. A caller reported two drivers were road-raging, cutting each other off and nearly hitting each other from behind on North Paseo de OƱate and Fairview Lane.

10:45 a.m. A City Hall caller said a man is in her office and wants to file a report because a tenant is threatening him.

11:11 a.m. A woman went to the EspaƱola Police Department to file a report because someone took out a $7,000 loan in her name.

11:55 a.m. A caller reported a break-in at Del Taco and said the light fixtures and electrical wiring were stolen.

12:04 p.m. Assistance was requested to do a welfare check for an investigation on Calle Valdez. The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office had a vehicle with blood in it registered to a person there and they were doing a welfare check on them.

2:26 p.m. A Las Lomas Apartments caller said he ordered $600 in parts online from a man in Maryland, but the man never sent the parts.

2:58 p.m. A Medanales caller reported her mother’s boyfriend is hitting her mother. A man was yelling in the background, saying the mother is sending nude photos to other men.

3:30 p.m. An overdose was reported at the clinic in Tierra Amarilla.

3:44 p.m. A Chamita caller said a mail truck almost hit her sister.

4:52 p.m. A North Riverside Drive caller reported a man is in the middle of a field next to Rio Grande Styles and they think he might be doing drugs.

5:27 p.m. A Pizza Hut caller said a man is yelling at employees, pointing at them and saying ā€œI want you.ā€ He then left, stumbling toward the bosque. A second caller said the man was back and they did see a knife on him, but he didn’t brandish it. He was trying to get back into the building.

6:42 p.m. A Chimayó caller reported the neighbor’s dog wandered into their yard, so they fired a warning shot to scare it away. The neighbor started to shoot back at them from his house.

7:50 p.m. An overdose was reported in La Mesilla.

7:57 p.m. A Holy Cross Cemetery caller said a man on bicycle had a big, red duffle bag filled with crosses.

9:37 p.m. A Tierra Amarilla Collection Center caller reported someone broke in and he wanted to file a report.

Pump and Dash

March 14

2:07 a.m. An East Shadowood Lane caller heard loud arguing and a man say he was going to get an AR-15. A second caller heard nine gunshots. A third caller heard gunshots and a man yelling.

2:32 a.m. An Alcalde caller said children were throwing rocks at him.

9:10 a.m. A Chimayó caller reported people are trying to take wood and arrowheads, which he said is a federal crime.

9:39 a.m. A Hernandez woman found her grandson dead in the yard.

10:03 a.m. A caller said two men were fighting in the Goodwill parking lot.

11:52 a.m. A Medanales caller reported a single-wide trailer was on fire.

12:33 p.m. A caller said there were people casing houses in the project housing on Calle de Pajarito.

1:12 p.m. A caller reported someone had a fire in the ditch near the fire station in Medanales and it jumped out of the ditch. A man that had the fire burning said he was told he was exempt from the burn ban.

2:33 p.m. An overdose was reported in Chimayó.

2:48 p.m. An Alcalde caller said they were having issues with the neighbors at the easement because they were yelling profanity and flipping the caller off.

3:06 p.m. A caller reported a man against whom she has a restraining order has been harassing her and her family on social media and she wants to file a report.

3:09 p.m. A Children, Youth and Families Department caller requested help from an officer to take custody of a baby that was born on fentanyl.

4:6 p.m. A West Roman Drive caller said a man started throwing rocks at her car, then drove off.

4:54 p.m. An EspaƱola Hospital caller wanted to file a report because they were poisoned with fentanyl in Alcalde. When an officer went to the hospital, the person said the incident happened in Santa Fe.

5:44 p.m. An overdose was reported at AutoZone. Two doses of Narcan were administered.

6:10 p.m. An Upper San Pedro Road caller said his wife is not in her right mind and is accusing him of starving their cats for 20 days.

6:25 p.m. A Santa Clara caller reported a man was hallucinating and lethargic and had been drinking for a week. The caller requested a welfare check on the man.

6:31 p.m. An Alcalde caller said her aunt is threatening to take her daughter and is calling her husband saying he’s molesting the girl.

6:46 p.m. A man’s death was reported on Simmons Lane.

7:27 p.m. An El Cuerno caller said a person with a Texas license plate on their vehicle pumped $181 worth of gas and didn’t pay.

7:42 p.m. A Chimayó caller said her boyfriend assaulted her and she was bleeding and her head was bruised.

10:19 p.m. A Medanales caller heard shots and reported a shot came through the wall.

11:28 p.m. A caller said her dad’s ex-girlfriend fired shots at her vehicle as they both pulled out around the same time from the Ohkay Casino parking lot.

ODing in the Turn Lane

March 15

12:03 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a man in Hernandez because he jumped in front of her car and she almost hit him.

12:33 a.m. A Villa del Norte Apartments caller thinks someone is in the back bedroom of her house.

1:46 a.m. A patient left the EspaƱola Hospital and was wearing a hospital gown and headed toward Speedway.

2:25 a.m. A woman said her son was overdosing; they were in a truck near Mesa Vista High School.

8:01 a.m. A Villa del Norte Apartments caller reported a break-in at her apartment.

8:25 a.m. A Chama caller said his former boss went to his house, threatened him and left a threatening note and jacket on his gate.

11:48 a.m. The mayordomo of the Dixon ditches said a tenant is being disorderly and the workers are saying they’re trespassing on the property but they have an easement.

4:05 p.m. A La Mesilla caller reported that her brother went to her parents house and is threatening to beat her up.

5:17 p.m. An East Pueblo Street caller said a homeless woman is standing at his gate and yelling.

5:55 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a man passed out in a vehicle in the turning lane at State Road 76 and North Riverside Drive. The man was overdosing and one dose of Narcan was administered.

5:59 p.m. A caller reported a man on a bicycle on State Road 76 had a knife and went to the caller’s house and stole from him.

6:13 p.m. A Velarde caller said he found a window on his car broken.

11:08 p.m. A Chimayó caller reported people with flashlights were walking on the road and the caller head several gunshots.

Getting the Runaround

March 16

4:38 a.m. A Villa del Norte Apartments caller said her husband was trying to get in and had a weapon, but she didn’t see the weapon.

8:50 a.m. A Lindrith caller reported someone keeps hacking his phone and though he got a new one, the same thing happened. Someone opened a bank account. He said he called the FBI but they give him the runaround.

11:07 a.m. An Alcalde caller said a man threw something like a heater at him and hit his hand.

11:19 a.m. A Chimayó caller reported her stepdad, against whom she has a restraining order, is taking items from the property.

12:28 p.m. A caller wanted to file a report because his house was broken into and his TVs were stolen, along with his mother’s death certificate, when he was in jail.

1:08 p.m. A EspaƱola Library caller said the cash drawer was taken by a man in a hoodie.

1:53 p.m. A report was taken for minors in possession at EspaƱola Valley High School.

2:06 p.m. A caller said their daughter took money from their house and handed it out to students at school.

3:43 p.m. A woman went to the EspaƱola Police Department to report her younger sister, of whom she has custody, for not listening to her and threatening to call CYFD.

5:33 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a woman at Dairy Queen, who was trying to get out of a car, but was pulled back in by a man.

5:41 p.m. A Villa del Norte Apartments caller said a man in the apartment next to hers has a gun and is setting her up.

8:59 p.m. A Velarde caller reported an RV is on fire and fully engulfed. Multiple callers then reported propane tanks were blowing up.

Out of Control Fire

March 17

7:30 a.m. A stolen vehicle was recovered at the NM Treatment Center.

8:22 a.m. A caller left his keys in his vehicle at Walmart and it got stolen.

8:42 a.m. A TA Clinic caller said a man with a cut hand got aggressive and left the clinic. The caller wants to speak with an officer.

8:43 a.m. A single-vehicle rollover occurred at El Vado Lake.

10:30 a.m. A caller said a few people raped his girlfriend last night and he wants to speak with an officer.

11:27 a.m. A person went to the Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Office to report harassment. Santa Clara Police Department told them to go there because even though the person being harassed is tribal, the person harassing them is non-tribal. RASO referred them to New Mexico State Police.

12:07 p.m. A caller reported there were a bunch of ā€œcrackheadsā€ fighting at Goodwill and it was overflowing into the roadway.

12:46 p.m. An El Rito caller said someone had a fire burning in a ditch, it got out of control and their field started on fire.

12:57 p.m. A homeless man was messing with someone’s welding equipment at near Apple Valley Kitchen. He also said three ā€œmentalā€ people were following him and beating on him and slapping him.

3:38 p.m. A CYFD caseworker from Santa Fe reported a baby was born at the EspaƱola Hospital and had fentanyl and THC in its system. The caseworker wanted to speak with an officer.

4:09 p.m. An overdose was reported on Calle Loma.

4:22 p.m. An overdose was reported in Medanales. Two doses of Narcan were administered.

5:13 p.m. A caller said he lost his wallet and ID at the Santa Cruz Country Store and the DMV requires a police report to get a new driver’s license.

6:51 p.m. A man had a rifle at the Santa Cruz Country Store and he was yelling at a woman and pointed the rifle at her.

7:12 p.m. A Camino Arbolera caller said weeks were being burnt without a permit.

7:31 p.m. A search warrant was executed in Hernandez.

Tossing Cones

March 18

7:36 a.m. A Chimayó caller reported his godfather beat him up. He has a broken ankle and gashes on his head.

9:14 a.m. A State Road 369 caller said she needs to order food and her husband is mentally unable to perceive that he can afford to buy food. She also said their kittens haven’t eaten in 25 days. The responding officer said Adult Protective Services would be called and there was cat food in the house.

9:37 a.m. Students at Alcalde Elementary were told to shelter in place because of gunshots nearby.

10:50 a.m. A woman was throwing traffic cones near Big 5.

10:54 a.m. A man who was either drunk or on drugs was yelling at customers at Giant.

12:52 p.m. A man and woman started a fire on U.S. Highway 84/285, then left.

12:57 p.m. A man with mental health issues was threatening people and trying to hit them at a house in Velarde.

2:49 p.m. A caller said a shirtless man at Fairview Elementary was pointing, talking to himself and acting crazy. The caller was concerned for the children who were about to get out of school. The man told an officer he’s on a mission to hitchhike to Chamita.

3:18 p.m. A Lindrith caller reported her boyfriend left her there, stole her clothes and has dope in his pockets.

3:59 p.m. A Coyote caller said she was going around a corner when a man in a pickup truck ran her off the road. He reversed the truck and went up to her window and said, ā€œIf I ever see you again, I’ll shoot you. Stay on your side of the road.ā€ The man then drove off.

4:57 p.m. A Calle de las Yuccas caller reported a note was left on her porch saying she doesn’t deserve dogs and shortly thereafter, her dog went missing.

6:04 p.m. A Pet Sense caller said a man was in the store, pretending to be a customer, but he’s a known shoplifter.

8:36 p.m. A Chama caller reported a mountain lion was on the porch of a house. She was at the neighbor’s house and couldn’t leave because the animal was sitting at the door.

10:15 p.m. An El Guique caller said their mother got their 17-year-old girlfriend drunk and was having sex with her.

11:27 p.m. A Moonrise Ranch caller reported two men were stealing stuff from their trailer in the backyard.
