Pets of the Week 4/2/26

Blake the bubbly, bright-eyed boy is here to bring the fun and the joy to your days. This 10-month-old, 46-lb. shepherd/husky-mix is a smiling, splash-seeking, leaf-chasing legend. Blake believes everyday should include a little adventure, a lot of joy, lots and lots of stuffies and preferably water. A total river romancer, Blake happily paddles along catching drifting leaves like they’re nature’s tennis balls. He’ll even dip his face underwater and blow bubbles like it’s his personal party trick.
Beyond the silliness, Blake is a sweet, sunshine-hearted sidekick who adores people and lives life with tail-wagging enthusiasm. Come meet this splash-happy, smiley sweetheart and see why everyone falls for Blake. The Española Animal Shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. is open Monday-Saturday.
Phoebe is in her renaissance era and she’s doing it in pearls. At 8 years old, this brown tabby came to the shelter as an owner surrender, carrying a whopping 26.6 lbs. and facing some skin issues.
Enter her foster family — her personal glam squad, wellness coaches and biggest fans. They cleaned her up, loved her up and crowned her the queen she is, complete with a very fitting pearl necklace draped around her neck like she’s been rich in another life. (Honestly, she probably was.)
Now she’s on a slow, steady glow-up. No crash diets, no shortcuts, just intentional care, gentle movement and the kind of love that changes everything. She’s already feeling better, moving easier, and stepping into herself more each day.
Phoebe will go home with her own harness and leash because yes, this girl takes walks now. Leisurely, dignified, pearl-necklace optional but encouraged. She’s not in a rush and she doesn’t need to be. This is a lifelong journey and she’s savoring it. She’s now available for adoption from the shelter, which is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. is open Monday-Saturday.
