Student-Led Production of Lost Girl Brings Live Theater to Española Community
The Drama Club of Upward Bound Española will present a student-driven production of “Lost Girl” by playwright Kimberly Belflower at 7 p.m. Friday (3/20) and Saturday (3/21). at the Nick Salazar Center for the Arts at Northern New Mexico College. The performances are free and open to the public.

Sunny
is four months old and already rewriting the rules — because yes, she’s orange and yes, she’s a girl. Female orange tabbies are a rare little genetic magic trick, which makes Sunny extra special before you even factor in her personality.

Pets of the Week
is 1-year-old, 58 lbs. and already at the top of her class. She’s a bright, bouncy beauty with signature rear-toear wiggles and a “let’s go!” attitude toward life. Loves other dogs, prefers a feline-free fan club and is made of loyalty, smarts and sunshine. After nearly eight weeks of training in the Paws in the Pen program with inmates at the Penitentiary of New Mexico, Darby is officially preparing for “pawrole.” And this girl will not just pass. She has excelled!

Pets of the Week
Margot is 25 pounds of beagle brilliance. She’s a true “nose-forward” dog who lives for a good sniff and would likely excel in scent work or nose games. When she’s not busy exploring the world one smell at a time, she’s happiest being close to her people and occupying laps, handing out kisses, and soaking up all the love. She may take a minute to clock the room, then promptly prances like she owns it. Dog-friendly, cat tolerant (will attempt unsolicited face-washing), part-time meerkat, full-time cuddle conspirator. Meet the newest class in the Paws in the Pen program at the Penitentiary of New Mexico — three brilliant girls almost halfway through their eightweek, 24/7 glow-up with their inmate trainers. By graduation, they’ll be potty and crate trained, fluent in their cues and headed home with training support for their adopters, gear, and six months of heartworm prevention. In short: polished, prepared, and poised to run the world.

Pets of the Week
Walter is a 1-year-old sugarcube shepherd-mix powered by joy, zoomies and a whole lot of heart. He lives for people, praise and being wherever the fun is! He’s still a big puppy, so his excitement sometimes pops out as enthusiastic hellos but he’s learning the art of sit, wait and polite greetings with treats and guidance. Walter is going to be an absolute star. He’ll thrive with an active human who’s ready for walks, adventures and helping a young dog grow into his best self. This heckin’ handsome boy is sunshine on legs and jubilee wrapped in fur, a people-loving sidekick who’s eager to learn and always up for the next thing. Tabitha and Walter are both available for adoption at the Española Animal Shelter, 160 Hamm Pkwy., 505-7474003.
