Athlete of the Week: Joslyn Nuñez, Pojoaque Volleyball
The Pojoaque Elkettes are off to a fantastic start to the season, with a 7-1 record, and this weekend they placed third at the Santa Fe Tournament of Champions while competing against top schools from all classifications, establishing themselves as one of the top teams in the state.
Nunez has stepped in as starting setter in place of the Elkettes' senior all-state starter from last year, rising from junior varsity as a sophomore. She celebrated her birthday on Sept. 6, and has been instrumental in setting up the team's offense.
