Stabbing Victim Won’t Cooperate
SUN Staff Report
A man was stabbed March 20 in the Goodwill parking lot, but police were unable to do anything about it for lack of cooperation and information.
Española City Police Officers D. Leneve, M. Gallegos, N. Lamendola and Dustin Chavez responded to the scene. Leneve saw a man standing against the building, wrapped in a blanket, he wrote in his incident report.
The man, identified as Jade Shelburn, 47, of Santa Fe, had wounds on his hands and a deep wound that was clotting through his shirt, just under his collar bone, the report said.
“The shirt was removed and there was a small puncture just below the collar bone,” Leneve wrote. “I continued to ask Jade what happened, to which he insisted he ‘did not know.’ “
Leneve reviewed the camera footage of the area but wrote that there was no coverage where the stabbing happened, there were no suspects and Shelburn wouldn’t cooperate.
Shelburn was transported to the Española Hospital but the report said no further action would be taken unless more information became available.
